Bakar Bio Labs welcomed City of Berkeley Mayor Adena Ishii, District 7 Councilmember Cecilia Lunaparra, District 2 Councilmember Terry Taplin, District 6 Councilmember Brent Blackaby, a representative from District 5 Councilmember Shoshana O’Keefe’s office, and the Office of Economic Development today for a great tour of the facility including the labs, garden, and outdoor meeting spaces. It was cool to learn that 90% of students who go through an internship at Bakar Labs receive a full time job offer and that the program will soon be expanding from 92,000 square feet in Berkeley to 420,000 square feet between Berkeley and San Francisco. It’s great to know they’re also supporting climate tech companies with the new Bakar Climate Labs program. Thanks Jeremy Alberga, David Schaffer, and Darren Cooke for hosting!
