Alex Henry seems like a pretty smart person. WTW issues a press release earlier this year. "84% of US employers are planning to make changes to their leave programs in the next two years." Why? Improve the employee experience. So as you look around to improve the employee experience...think of Alex and his words.

Grieving on a deadline—can anyone relate? A few days off, then it’s back to business! ???? Grief doesn’t just end because an outdated bereavement policy says it’s time to return to work. Grief is complex, unique, and unpredictable, no matter what the policy says. Solutions? - Update that old policy. Give people the space and resources they need. - Treat your employees like humans. Support your people—indefinitely.

Even Superman's son has a hard time with grief ?? "Grief is weird, and scary, and a little yucky." "The one thing that will be truly destructive is if you ignore it (grief) and pretend it doesn’t exist." Will Reeve lost both his parents at a young age and continues to struggle with his grief. This clip is a powerful reminder that even superheroes (and their children) aren’t immune to loss. We all grieve in our own way—and that’s okay! We need to break the stigma around talking about death. Openly discussing grief helps us heal and reminds us we’re not alone. Big shoutout to the All There Is podcast for creating space for these conversations and making a real impact. At Bereave, we’re proud to support this mission of transforming how we approach grief—thank you for leading this important conversation! ?? America knew actor Christopher Reeve as Superman, but to Will Reeve, he was "Dad." Will was 12 years old when his father died in 2004, and then in 2006 his mom Dana Reeve also died. Will sits down with CNN's Anderson Cooper to share what he calls his "long journey into grief." When we were introduced to Lance Reynolds, we thought he had a cool job and was a cool guy that renovates Airstreams with his daughter and digs music by vinyl. But then we discovered his deep passion and care for the teams he works with. The relentless energy he shows up with to ensure their wellbeing and productivity and how that spills over to the US Foods Customer base. He is the real deal. And we've been in meetings with his team to see it live. But why does he care? It's just work, right? Join us on Oct 16 to find out - and get a sneak preview of his upcoming book "The ROI of Giving a Sh*t."
