Our last spotlight of the week is from our DFW division. Meet Arafat! Arafat came to us in 2021 as a Routing Supervisor. With over 30 years of experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and strong commitment to excellence. He is now a Routing Manager and is recognized by his team for his servant’s heart, patience, critical thinking, and adaptability. His commitment to learning and continuous improvement has elevated the department’s ability to serve both employees and customers. We’re lucky to have him on the team!

Meet Kelly from our sweet home in Alabama! Kelly has been with our Southeast division since the very beginning. After joining families with Kelley Foods in 2016, establishing what is now the Ben E. Keith Southeast division, she started on the purchasing team. She quickly proved her talents as she moved up through the department, from assistant to manager and now leading the team as their director. What a journey it’s been and we are proud to have her a part of the Ben E. Keith family!

Meet Chris from our Florida Division! Chris has been with Ben E. Keith for 19 years and has been at the Florida Division for his entire tenure. Chris is a “cool” guy – literally and figuratively. ?? Spending his entire career in the cooler and cold dock, he is an expert in the area and has become the "go-to-guy”. Chris was further selected as the 2022 Day Warehouse Associate of the Year. Around here, we all call him CP and we are proud to have him on the Florida team!

He has been with our New Mexico division for 3 years now and has made such a positive impact on their team. Julian is described as everyone’s “right hand” and takes pride in the work he does. ?? What a joy it is to have him a part of the BEK family!

Juan “Arturo” began his career at Ben E. Keith in 1994 as a Route Reconciliation clerk, working on Sundays. He has always been part of the San Antonio division, where he values the culture and feels like he is part of a second family. Currently, Arturo serves as the Assistant Controller and is often referred to as the “walking encyclopedia.” ?? However, he takes the most pride in being helpful and supporting others!

Coming to us from our Oklahoma division, meet Henry! Henry gained an extensive culinary background before coming to us at Ben E. Keith. ?? He has worked in multiple kitchens around Oklahoma City and has also spent time in Italy managing a restaurant and a farm. Now back in Oklahoma, he utilizes his culinary knowledge by serving restaurants in his community. We’re also very excited for him and his wife who are expecting their second baby in April! We’re happy to have him on our team!

From our Mid-South division, meet Heather! Heather’s energetic attitude took the division by storm just over 2 years ago when she was hired as the receptionist. Her talents brought her to our accounting department and now she shines her positive spirit in our purchasing department. ?? She’s a joy to have on the team!

Meet Glenn from our Carolina division, an expert from the Transportation department. ?? Glenn has been in the foodservice business for quite some time, delivering groceries his community. He is helping to expand the Ben E. Keith footprint in our newest markets as a driver supervisor. He’s a family man both at the office and at home. We’re lucky to have him on the team!

Meet Alexis from our West Texas division! ?? Alexis first joined the Ben E. Keith family as an ASPIRE intern in 2019. Since then, she has gained valuable experience in Purchasing and Sales Analytics. With her diverse skill set, she's now joined the West Texas Marketing team as the division continues to grow!

Leading up to our birthday on Saturday, we will highlight some of the people who make our culture so special. ?? From our Gulf Coast division, meet Leon! Leon has been a part of the Ben E. Keith family for 30 years and has spent time at 4 of our divisions including- DFW, Mid-South, San Antonio, and now in Houston at our Gulf Coast division. He is an expert when it comes to our warehouse and is best known as “coach”, serving as a mentor to many of the Gulf Coast team.
