The Council is working to reduce funding volatility, promote the use of surplus assets and modernize regulations to sustain and enhance these plans for future generations. For example, the Council supports permitting unusable surplus assets in retiree health #401h accounts in pension plans to shore up the #retirement benefits in the pension plan and to provide other benefits.
