Impact Investing for social enterprises addressing poverty in emerging markets.
关于我们
Beneficial Returns is an impact investing debt fund. We borrow money from family foundations, donor advised funds and faith-based communities to make long-term loans to social enterprises reducing poverty in Latin America and Southeast Asia. Beneficial Returns provides loans of $75,000 to $500,000 for revenue-producing and cost-saving equipment to social enterprises focused on sustainable agriculture and energy, waste reduction and re-purposing and poverty alleviation. Beneficial Returns focuses on: -emerging markets where the opportunities are greatest and where access to long-term financing is in shortest supply; -vetted borrowers who have been recognized by the most respected names in social enterprise/social finance; -the "missing middle" - enterprises too large for microfinance but too small for Development Finance Institutions. Beneficial Return's investors are individuals with donor advised funds and private foundations that want to activate their un-deployed philanthropic assets for social and environmental good. They recognize that their money can have a positive impact even before it is given away.

Beyond offering loans accessible to indigenous enterprises, Reciprocity Fund hopes to strengthen these businesses to qualify for conventional financing. The “graduation” of indigenous-led coffee cooperative, FECCEG, from Reciprocity Fund into our main Beneficial Returns portfolio with stricter credit standards is a promising sign of growth that improves the livelihoods of over 1,300 indigenous smallholder farmers in Guatemala. #impactinvesting #socialenterprise #indigenouspeoples #sustainableagriculture

Estufas Chispa had a golden opportunity to bring 20,000 of their improved wood stoves to indigenous communities in Guatemala’s Highlands, and Reciprocity Fund helped make it happen. Producing as many stoves in one go as they have in the last four years to fulfill this government contract was no simple feat, but our loan enabled Estufas Chispa to triple the size of their workforce and secure needed raw materials. In just 3 months since our loan, Estufas Chispa already made their first delivery, and soon, thousands more indigenous households will reduce costs and health risks by using stoves that burn less firewood and produce significantly less smoke than conventional options. Invest in Reciprocity Fund via your private foundation or DAF and help us support more businesses that benefit indigenous communities while protecting and preserving their lands. #impactinvesting #indigenouspeoples #socialenterprise #donoradvisedfund

We are proud to work with Cartier Women's Initiative on the CWI Loan Fund to catalyze the growth and impact of remarkable women-led social businesses driving change in their communities.
In 2022, we launched the CWI Loan Fund, managed by Beneficial Returns. The fund provides loans up to $200,000 USD to fellows in select geographies at preferential interest rates, in order to accelerate their growth, enhance financial resiliency and prepare them for conventional investors. Since launching, the fund has issued loans to fourteen entrepreneurs across eight countries. For some of the fellows, the Fund is the first non-grant external investor. To date, we have issued a total funding amount of $1,423,000 USD.
