According to a 2024 EBRI survey, only 21% of workers feel very confident about their retirement funds. But if you're over 50, you can contribute more to your 401(k) with the "catch-up" provision. In 2025, you can save up to $31,000 if you're over 50, and up to $34,750 if you're between 60 and 63. This extra $7,500 a year can really add up! Federal Reserve forecasts fewer interest rate cuts in 2025. Yesterday, the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 0.25%. Here's a quick recap of why and what it means for you. This is their third cut this year to stimulate the economy. They also hinted at two more cuts in 2025, depending on economic conditions. With inflation still high and the economy resilient, the Fed revised their forecast from four cuts to two. This news didn't sit well with the markets, causing the Dow to drop for the 10th straight day. Remember, generally speaking, the Fed cuts interest rates to stimulate the economy and raises them to slow it down. What does this mean for everyday Americans?
