About the CDFA?: Founded in 1993, The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts? (IDFA?) has certified more than 5,000 CDFA professionals across the United States and Canada. IDFA trains professional financial planners, accountants, and lawyers to determine the financial needs and outcomes for couples after divorce. The number of professionals receiving the CDFA designation continues to grow at nearly 15% each year. This niche industry is expanding rapidly as more people across the country search for alternative divorce processes—from collaborative law to mediation—rather than litigating their case using lawyers as their only line of defense.

As 2024 comes to a close, we have been busy in the "workshop" helping clients complete important year-end items: tax projections, gifts to charitable organizations and loved ones, 529 plan contributions, Roth IRA conversions, and tax-loss harvesting, to name a few. We have seen record highs recently in the US stock market against the backdrop of the Federal Reserve's 50 basis point rate cut in September. Inflation continues to trend downward as the Fed carefully navigates their decisions around further cuts and accommodative monetary policy.
