We reached 120 million views in the last 100 days—here’s what I learned: 1. One viral clip creates momentum. A local ABC news video went viral first, triggering a wave of media coverage, interviews, and influencer interest practically overnight. 2. The first 3 million views were the most exciting. At first, every million felt like a celebrated milestone. But once virality became the norm, tens of millions of views barely made it into lunch table conversations. 3. We chose to ride the wave—not steer it. Our Gen-1 prototype is 100% unsafe—it wasn’t designed for safety—but that “danger factor” fueled online chatter. Instead of controlling the narrative, we let creators make whatever they wanted and let the conversation unfold. Everyone at Beltways knows the real product, built over the last two years, has been designed with passenger safety at its core. 4. Viral views don’t always translate to instant sales, but they open doors. B2C products can thrive on hype alone, but large-scale mobility infrastructure requires a public proof of reliability before adoption. We didn’t sell overnight, but the exposure drew global airport and city interest—opportunities that will take time to convert. 5. There is something visceral about our accelerators. The excitement around our prototype proves that once people feel a fully developed Beltways system, the impact will speak for itself. It’s Saturday night and I’m watching a Guy Ritchie movie, drawing all this inspiration for how to make engaging content. Halfway through, we decide to take a snack break, and out of nowhere Daisy goes “oh my God, you won’t believe this.” Suddenly, as usually happens with viral content, our WCPO (ABC-affiliate) news interview about Beltways hits 4M views on Instagram. Lessons learned: 1) What you see on TV / social media is 1% of what actually happens. 2) Go to the comments section to see how the Telephone game plays out. 3) Speed is exciting. 4) I need more Guy Ritchie inspiration because Beltways has a fun story to share.
