?? Championing Client-Centered ABA at the Black Women in Behavior Analysis Appreciation Day Conference Belmont Behavioral Health BCBA Crystal Miller MS BCBA, LBS recently participated in a panel discussion on making Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) more client-centered — ensuring services reflect the unique needs, experiences, and preferences of each individual. ??What does Client-Centered ABA mean? ABA has long focused on structured interventions to improve behavior, but this discussion emphasized moving beyond one-size-fits-all methods. Instead, it encourages tailoring interventions to each client’s background, life experiences, and values. Key Takeaways: ? Understanding Clients’ Needs – Considering trauma history, cultural background, and personal preferences in treatment plans ? Ethical & Respectful Practice – Prioritizing compassion, dignity, and alignment with clients’ values ? Real-World Applications – Success stories and challenges from hospitals, schools, and community settings ? Cultural Humility – Ongoing education to recognize biases and better serve diverse populations ??Why It Matters: ABA is most effective when clients feel heard, respected, and involved in their care. By adopting client-centered practices, providers can foster trust, build stronger relationships, and help clients achieve goals in ways that honor their individuality. We’re proud to have Crystal representing Belmont Behavioral Health in this important conversation — paving the way for more inclusive and effective behavioral healthcare. #ClientCenteredCare #ABAwithCompassion #BehavioralHealthInnovation #BWIBAAD2025 #BelmontBehavioralHealth
