We’re thrilled to share that our renovated teahouse, Shoseian, in Glendale, was featured in the "Tea: The Drink that Caused Trouble" episode of the documentary series, A History of the World in Six Glasses. Hosted by Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi, this episode explores the fascinating impact of tea on culture and society. Originally built in 1974, Shoseian is one of the few traditional Japanese teahouses open to the public in the United States. Our goal was to honor the original architecture designed by Hayahiko Takase while refreshing the time-worn interior. BDG Principal Ginna Claire Nguyen thoughtfully redesigned the layout to blend traditional tea ceremony requirements with modern needs, creating a serene space that also serves as a demonstration area. We are grateful to contribute to a place where people can find peace, reflect, and connect across cultures. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can stream the episode to view a special ceremony filmed at Shoseian, as well as an appearance by Ginna herself. ?? Watch here: https://lnkd.in/gv3a6GGm
