Introducing Riley Kingsly, a skilled machinist from Perry, MI, who’s making his mark in the world of precision machining. Riley’s journey began with a unique educational background, he was homeschooled for 11 years before attending Webberville High School for his senior year. It was during this time that a mock interview at the Wilson Talent Center connected him with Bekum America and set the stage for his future career. Although Riley initially had his sights set on welding, he pivoted to precision machining. This decision turned out to be a perfect fit, and Riley now thrives as a machinist, operating and programming CNC machines for over a year and a half. Riley’s dedication to learning and his enthusiasm for the Bekum Apprenticeship Program have helped him gain invaluable industry experience. He’s focused on growing his expertise in machining and is excited about the opportunities ahead. When he’s not at work, Riley enjoys mountain biking and spending quality time with his wife, friends, and family. #bekum #blowmolding #apprentice #plastic #machine #bekumamerica

Meet Our Apprentices: Nick Bleisner is a talented young man from Oakley, MI, and a graduate of Chesaning High School. Nick’s journey to Bekum America’s Apprenticeship Program started to take form when he took a welding class in his senior year. That spark turned into a drive when he discovered the incredible opportunities at Bekum thanks to a chat with his cousin at his graduation party. Nick’s days are filled with hands-on experiences and new challenges, keeping his work exciting and rewarding. He’s also furthering his skills at Lansing Community College, which he describes as “pretty fun.” While Nick’s long-term career goals are still taking shape, one thing is clear: welding will be a central part of his future. Andreas Mehnert passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 22, 2025, at the age of 62. The Bekum Group mourns the loss of the second son of the company's founder, Gottfried Mehnert, and brother of Michael Mehnert, CEO of the group. With his passing, we lose a long-standing, highly valued colleague and an empathetic personality who brought significant insights with his technical understanding and great negotiating skills. Andreas Mehnert played a pivotal role in opening doors for cleanroom extrusion blow moulding of pharmaceutical products, leaving a lasting impact on the company. On October 1, 1986, Andreas Mehnert began his professional career in his father’s company at the Berlin location. Following extensive training across all departments at Bekum Berlin and the sites in Traismauer (Austria), Williamston (Michigan, USA), and S?o Paulo (Brazil), the trained industrial clerk found his path in technical sales. His passion for extrusion blow moulding and exceptional technical expertise led to remarkable sales successes. Over a decade ago, Andreas Mehnert founded Bekum Asia, a branch in Kunshan, China, and successfully led the business in the Asian region for several years. For nearly 40 years, Andreas Mehnert was a defining part of the Bekum family and history. We are deeply shocked by his sudden passing. Our thoughts and deepest condolences go especially to his wife, Komariyah Mehnert, his sons, Sam and Nick, as well as his entire family and friends, who have lost an extraordinary, warmhearted, and inspiring individual. We will always honor the memory of Andreas Mehnert.
