The work for Measure C implementation continues! Last weekend, Hively was in attendance to advocate for Family, Friend & Neighbor Child Care Providers at the First 5 Alameda County Community Advisory Council Measure C Listening Session. Family, Friend, Neighbor (FFN) caregivers play a crucial role in providing flexible child care options, especially for low-income families and parents who work non-traditional hours. They are essential! Thank you Mona Attia-Shirk, Maria O. Alvarez, and Karen Ramirez for your advocacy. Thank you to all of the child care providers and community members in attendance. And, special thanks to Kristin Spanos from First 5 for leading the efforts to manage Measure C funding. That's a wrap on the most amazing Hively Toy Giveaway EVER!! We gifted 618 toys to 82 families (220 children) and 14 child care providers AND handed out $600 in Safeway gift cards. Thank you to our amazing donors: Albertsons Companies, Safeway, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, Cemex, and Dublin Police Department!
