关于我们
Behavioral Health Network, Inc. is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children and families in Western Mass since 1938. As a comprehensive service system, with a focus on delivering professional services to those with mental illness, substance use disorders or intellectual disabilities, BHN’s funding sources are diverse. BHN holds contracts with the Departments of Mental Health, Public Health, Developmental Disabilities, Youth Services, and Medicaid, along with cities, towns, and various Federal departments. BHN also contracts with most health insurance companies. BHN and its programs have been instrumental in development of new services and meeting the behavioral health needs of the Pioneer Valley. We serve the most challenging individuals, utilize evidenced-based treatment models, and collaborate well with healthcare, social service organizations and educational systems to promote integrated quality services to individuals and their families.

It's Mental Illness Awareness Week - the perfect opportunity to challenge misconceptions. Mental illness is more common than you may think: 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiences mental illness each year. Let’s break the stigma together with open, compassionate conversations. NAMI’s 2024 theme for #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek and #WorldMentalHealthDay is My Mental Health at Work. Personal mental health can sometimes take a backseat at work, but it’s time for us to come together to prioritize it. Discover how we can work together to foster #NAMIStigmaFree workplaces by visiting nami.org/MIAW.
Mental health is vital in every part of our lives, including at work. Yet, we know it’s not always a priority. That’s why we created #NAMIStigmaFree—to help employees navigate their mental health at work and guide employers in creating supportive, safe spaces. Download our latest toolkits to learn how to foster a culture of support: nami.org/miaw. #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek

A big thank you to Marcie Lyons, Director of Nursing, for speaking and providing information about BHN at the luncheon, and to Ashley Bellio for staffing our resource table!

BHN’s Recovery Coaches proudly participated in the 34th Annual Recovery Day Celebration in Boston, hosted by the Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR) on Sept. 26th. The event brought together advocates, public officials, individuals in recovery, and their supporters, with over one thousand people marching from Boston Common to the Shubert Theatre, chanting, "Recovery is the way to go!" to demonstrate the importance and power of addiction recovery. The celebration featured inspiring speeches, including one from the honorable Mayor Michelle Wu, musical performances, an art display, and more. A huge shoutout to BHN's Recovery Coaches for the life-changing work they do to support individuals and help them achieve their recovery goals!

BHN was a proud sponsor of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff Shuffle held today at the Ashley Reservoir in Holyoke. Funds raised by the 5k run and walk support the YWCA of Western Massachusetts efforts to provide essential services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. Congrats to the race organizers on a successful family friendly event, and thank you to the community members and BHN staff who came out to support a great cause!

"No addict or alcoholic woke up one morning and decided, 'I think I'm going to be an addict.' Addiction turned my life upside down and took everything from me. BHN gave me a second chance to get my life back on track. The best part about what I do now is that I get to help addicts and alcoholics who are just like me. I didn't learn this job from a book or in the classroom; I learned it because I've lived their life. The best part of recovery is having a second chance and discovering a new way of living healthily." - Eric, New View Counselor As #NationalRecoveryMonth comes to an end, we share the brave voices of recovery in the BHN community that remind us that recovery is real and possible.
