  • Join Dr. Colleen Lang, Ph.D. and a panel of experts in a webinar event that explores friendship transitions during middle and high school, with a live discussion and Q&A on Wednesday, September 25th at 1pm EST/10am PST. Change is the only constant in middle and high school. Each year there are new teachers, new classes, and new surprises. There are also new and shifting friendships. Sometimes, this is due to a transitional leap, such as going from middle school to high school. Sometimes, this is because of a life transition, where suddenly you’re the new kid in school. Sometimes, it’s seemingly out-of-the-blue. You’re out of the group chat with no explanation. In this live webinar, you’ll learn: - What’s typical, and not typical, in adolescent friendships - Concrete skills to make new and lasting friendships - Tips for parents on how to coach from the sidelines (and when to back-off) If you know any parents or teens who are navigating the highs and lows of making new friends, have them join this webinar event. Earlier this year, Drs. Monica Shah and Jenna Hennessy partnered with Handspring Health's Handspring Institute, an information sharing resource aimed at strengthening the state of mental healthcare in our schools. We were proud to help towards this mission by presenting two webinars on Social-Emotional and Mindful Learning, as well as CBT Strategies for Children and Teens with Panic Disorder, to school-based mental health professionals and their institutions. Schools and school mental health professionals do such important frontline work, and we are always happy to partner and collaborate together in order to support our kiddos in schools! #handspringinstitute #bwnyc #workingtogether #schoolclinicalcollaboration
