It was an honor to attend the dedication of the Fortitude program at The Recovery Village in Cherry Hill. This program honors the memory of Francis Elmer Beach, a heroic veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps in World War 2. The Fortitude program is designed to support our veterans and first responders' unique needs. Business Director Michael DiMarco and External Marketing Outreach Liaison talked with Don Rogers and Kevin Reese of Recovery Village.

It was a pleasure attending the 16th Annual Meg Linzner Memorial Fundraiser on November 14th. Atlantic Prevention Resources hosted the event, Which is a non-profit organization that has been doing great work in the community. We had the opportunity to meet with Ray Lucas, the guest speaker. Ray Lucas played quarterback for the Jets and currently serves as his hometown's Executive Director for Public Housing. Lucas has shared his story of addiction and opioid recovery with thousands of New Jersey high school student-athletes. Behavioral Crossroads is a leading New Jersey mental health (MH) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment center serving the Atlantic County community since 2004. If you or your loved one is suffering from mental health disorders and Substance Use Disorder, call us at 856-818-0135 or visit: https://lnkd.in/eRbkydBw https://www.atlprev.org/

We are starting a new series at Behavioral Crossroads. The focus will differ each week based on what our clientele are being taught. This week's focus is change/adjustment difficulties. Read about this group below from Jenny Riveros, Bilingual Case Manager and Pre Voc Specialist from our Mental Health Partial Care Program. "We will discuss and review adjustment disorders, which occur when individuals have difficulty adjusting to a significant life change or stressor. These disorders can manifest in various ways; impacting emotional and behavioral responses. I will offer an educational support group to help our clients understand and manage adjustment disorders, their symptoms, treatments, and tips for dealing with change. The main goal of this group is for clients to understand that "we cannot always control change, but we can manage/learn ways to better respond to those changes."

We are starting a new series at Behavioral Crossroads. The focus will differ each week based on what our clientele are being taught. This week's focus is Goal Setting. Goal setting is the process of creating a plan to achieve a desired outcome. It involves making a commitment to a goal through thought, emotion, and behavior. Each morning, clients and their case managers come together to discuss their short-term and long-term goals. Some of these may include attending a specific group during the week or managing anger by using coping strategies, while others may include getting approved for low-income housing or getting connected with local community agencies. At Behavioral Crossroads, clients receive weekly case management and goal-setting group support to build social skills and stay committed to their treatment journey.
