Holonic offers a completely new way for companies to think about, develop, and engage with (engineering) teams.? Traditionally, building an engineering team focuses on finding the best candidates and assembling a multi-skilled team to build a product. At Holonic, we don’t think a team of people with great resumes ensures success. We are focused on process over product. Beyond simply recruiting top candidates for our clients, we train them as teams - focusing on developing communication skills, emotional intelligence, user empathy, and a sense of common purpose using the best practices of psychology, sociology, and group dynamics, as well as the more traditional best practices of product development. By training our teams on soft skills and processes, we are ensuring they have the foundation to work together and succeed regardless of the product. Once these teams go through the Holonic training process, we place them with clients, offering our clients personalized support and development from a wide array of coaches - technical, organizational and psychological - to ensure seamless integration and success. Holonic cares deeply about doing meaningful, innovative work - we choose our clients, looking for alignment in value and think so that together we can develop a new paradigm of teamwork that brings positive change to the organizations we engage with. Is the Stack the Most Important Factor for Landing a Job? In today’s job descriptions, we see countless requirements—and among them, the tech stack often stands out as a key focus. But is it the most important factor? ?? The truth is, while the stack is undeniably important, it’s not the sole determinant of a developer’s fit for a role. A strong foundation in the stack being used can streamline onboarding and productivity, making it a significant advantage. ? However, in a fast-evolving tech landscape, the ability to learn, adapt, and understand new technologies is just as critical. ?? A great developer isn’t just someone who knows the tools of today ?? but someone who can master the tools of tomorrow. ?? Companies that value adaptability foster innovation, and developers who continuously evolve stay relevant regardless of changes in technology. ?? So yes, the stack matters, but let’s not overlook the power of curiosity, adaptability, and a growth mindset. ?? Together, they build not just better developers but better teams. What’s your take? How do you balance stack expertise with adaptability in hiring? Share your thoughts! ?? #TechStackVsAdaptability #GrowthMindsetInTech #DeveloperSkills

5 Tips for Designing a Productive Remote Workspace! ??? Working from home has incredible perks, but it also requires intentional planning to keep productivity high and stress low. Here are five practical tips to optimize your remote workspace and set yourself up for success: 1 - ??? Designate a dedicated workspace: create a clear boundary by setting up a separate space solely for work, whether it's a spare room or a specific corner of your home. This separation helps your brain switch into “work mode” and allows for a smoother transition to “home mode” at the end of the day. 2 - ?? Prioritize cleanliness & organization: keeping your workspace clean and clutter-free can boost mental clarity. Start each day by tidying up any scattered items, ensuring you have easy access to necessary materials, and setting up a system for keeping things organized. A clear space often leads to a clear mind. 3 - ?? Invest in comfortable furniture: choose a chair and desk that support good posture and reduce strain on your body. Sitting comfortably can improve focus and prevent fatigue, helping you stay engaged longer without discomfort. 4 - ???? Add personal touches : small touches like a plant, a favorite mug, or a photo can make your workspace inviting and inspiring. Personalizing your space makes it feel like a place you want to spend time in, which can boost your mood and overall productivity. 5 - ??Minimize distractions: to stay focused, limit noise and interruptions as much as possible. Consider noise-canceling headphones, or communicate boundaries to those sharing your space during work hours. With a dedicated, clean, and comfortable workspace, you’ll be ready to tackle the day with greater focus and energy. ? What’s your favorite tip for creating an effective home office? #RemoteWork #WorkFromHome #ProductivityTips #Workspace ????

Using A.I. can produce unique results, but, as with anything, it requires dedication to learn. Take a look at this insightful post by Allie K. I believe anyone can learn how to use AI. Just like I believe anyone can learn to sing. And if your reaction is “but Allie, I’m tone deaf, and when I sing, the squirrels cry,” well, then I’m going to say something that you know to be true as well. It just takes work. Look, we're all juggling a million priorities – strengthening bonds with our children, showing more kindness to colleagues, chasing that entrepreneurial dream, or yes, perfecting that bibimbap recipe. A million things on our plate take work. And it is our decision where we allocate that energy. But what I would argue is that, investing just a fraction of your energy in AI today will multiply your capacity to achieve all these dreams tomorrow. Allocate just *some* of that short-term plate and your long-term plate is exponentially improved. Because with AI, you can do more, in less time, at a higher quality. But that only happens if you learn it. What I’m finding now in many of my conversations is that the vast majority of business professionals have tried AI assistants like ChatGPT. You’ve probably tried. You’re probably summarizing this post with it right now. Yet what I find to be excruciatingly painful, what keeps me up at night, is that they use it as a fancy Google. They come to ChatGPT with one question. They get the answer. And they walk away. They skip the hard work. They skip the behavior change. And they go off muscle memory. They stay in their comfort zone, expecting the world to move slowly enough around them that no one will notice. In the AI age, muscle memory will fail you. It is the people who are willing to take a step backward, rethink, and start the new engine up that win in the next 10 years—and not just learn how to prompt, but learn how to re-thrive. Thanks for reading ?? P.S. If you’re in the US, go vote; if you’re a manager, you have the power and opportunity to protect the calendars of your staff, reschedule meetings on Tuesday, and make sure folks know they have time to exercise their civic duty…also most meetings are a waste of time anyways, so they’ll be doubly grateful ???

?? Creativity in the Day-to-Day of a Developer ?? Creativity isn't just for designers! Developers often face unique challenges that require creative thinking every day. Whether it's debugging complex code, optimizing performance, or developing innovative solutions to problems, creativity plays a key role in the life of a developer. In many ways, coding is like crafting—transforming abstract ideas into functional, elegant programs. However, maintaining creativity in a highly technical and fast-paced environment can be difficult, especially when dealing with tight deadlines or repetitive tasks. So, how can developers stay creative in such a technical field? Here are a few common strategies that many developers use to keep their creativity alive: ? Taking breaks away from the screen: some of the best ideas come when not actively working. Short breaks, walking, or switching tasks can help the brain make new connections. ?? Collaborating with peers: discussing a problem with a colleague often brings fresh perspectives. Brainstorming with others can lead to innovative solutions. ?? Drawing inspiration from other industries: looking at how other fields approach problem-solving can spark new ideas and methods that can be applied to development. ?? Experimenting without fear of failure: creativity flourishes when there's room to experiment. Building prototypes or trying new approaches, even if they don't work right away, can lead to breakthroughs later. How do developers in your network stimulate creativity in their daily work? Whether through brainstorming, side projects, or a change in routine, everyone has their own methods. ?? BREAKING: AI can now help with coding tests, shopping lists, and more. Anthropic just released a preview of “Computer Use” which allows an AI model to (I can’t believe I even have to say this) use your computer. The model is not explicitly programmed how to shop on Amazon or how to run unit tests. It’s a flexible approach that generally knows how to navigate screenshots, move your mouse, click, type, and take action. I want to advocate for a few things here: 1) Watch it. Don’t let it run wild the first few times you use it. Understand the flow, actions, and prompt performance. 2) Explore. Anthropic is *very* generic on use cases, and that is on purpose. It is up to YOU to figure out how to use it—this is an early preview for usage feedback. 3) It’s an API, so grab a dev. While many non-technical folks can hook up an API (esp with the help of AI!), this is not the most accessible agentic AI we’ll see. 4) Beware of cost. Agentic AI can get expensive, so keep track of token usage. Easy unit tests might cost 60 seconds. Complex shopping could be a few bucks. ?? 2025 will be the year of agentic AI—this is definitely a trial/explore phase, so drop your experiments and questions below.

?? Measure thrice, check twice, cut once. You’ve probably heard “measure twice, cut once,” a carpenter's mantra. It reminds us that taking time to ensure accuracy prevents costly mistakes. But in today’s complex business landscape, we believe in going even further: Measure thrice, check twice, cut once. Here’s how this mindset can help ensure success in both work and life: ?? Gather diverse perspectives. Before making decisions, it’s crucial to check for understanding across multiple stakeholders. Getting input from different voices ensures that you have a more complete view of the situation, which leads to smarter, more informed choices. ?? Simplify complexity. When facing a complex challenge, break it down into individual components. Sometimes the solution isn't about adding more elements, but about removing unnecessary pieces to streamline the process. In tech, just as in life, simpler solutions are often the most effective. ?? Get a second set of eyes. No matter how experienced we are, we can become too close to our work to be fully objective. Asking someone else to review your work can provide fresh insights and help catch mistakes or areas for improvement that you might have overlooked. ? Pause before reacting. It’s easy to rush into solutions, especially when emotions are involved. Taking the time to fully process the situation—and perhaps seeking advice from a trusted colleague or mentor—allows you to respond thoughtfully, rather than reactively. ?? Prioritize preparation. Success in meetings, presentations, and important conversations often comes down to how well-prepared you are. Dedicating time to preparation not only boosts your confidence but also makes interactions more meaningful and productive. At Holonic, we’re always looking for ways to combine technical excellence with personal growth. Now, we’d love to hear from you—how do you ensure precision and thoughtful action in your daily life? Holy crap. I just used AI to build an entire podcast course in less than a day. Over the weekend, I worked with Google NotebookLM to make a 15-episode series covering key AI topics. Listen to them all for AI enlightenment, or click around to find your next dinner party flex. ?? Here's the lineup: 1. AI Overview, Turing Test, AI Winters 2. Machine Learning & MLOps 3. Prompt Engineering 4. Reinforcement Learning, AI Agents, RLHF 5. Transformers & Attention 6. Large Language Models (LLMs) 7. Generative AI 8. Vector Databases, Embeddings, RAG 9. Deep Learning & Neural Networks 10. Privacy, Federated Learning, Encryption 11. AI Transparency, Explainability, Interpretability 12. AI Algorithmic Bias and Ethics 13. Multimodal AI 14. AI Agents & Agentic AI 15. AGI and Superintelligence How I did it so you can too: first, I worked alongside ChatGPT to pick the right topics. The first options were genuinely awful or way too outdated. This took almost an hour of brainstorming. Then, for each topic, I grabbed a bunch of sources (5-16 articles, videos, papers per episode). I moved all sources into NotebookLM, validated they were uploaded (a bunch of YT videos break). Then grabbed the NotebookLM summary, transferred them back to Claude and ChatGPT to finalize all titles and episode descriptions to be SEO-optimized. And finally, created a Spotify for Podcasters channel, uploaded logo, description, and all episodes. Start to finish in under a day. ?? Listen here: https://lnkd.in/eUhNGQtv ?? Save and share this post. Big thank you to Andrej Karpathy who inspired this experiment.

?? Stop fighting against the clock ?? Sometimes, it feels like other people have more hours in their day, doesn’t it? We look at their productivity and wonder: how do they accomplish so much in just one day? The truth is, we all have the same 24 hours. The key isn’t about cramming more into your schedule but about mastering how you organize those tasks. Here are three practical tips to help remote workers better manage their day: 1. ? Prioritize and Time-block: not everything on your to-do list is equally important. Start by identifying your top priorities for the day and break them down into smaller, manageable tasks. Use time-blocking techniques to assign specific time slots to each task. By doing this, you'll reduce distractions and stay focused on one thing at a time, making it easier to keep up with your daily goals. 2. ?? Have a Set Schedule: a clear schedule can be your best friend when it comes to remote work. Set specific hours for your workday and plan out your activities in advance. You can use simple tools like Google Calendar to manage your time—there's no need to go beyond basic solutions. Having a defined routine helps create boundaries between work and personal time, making it easier to stay disciplined and organized throughout the day. 3. ?? Stop Comparing Your Daily Success to Others: it’s all too easy to look at others' posts and wonder why you’re not achieving as much. However, those daily highlights you see online aren’t the full story—sometimes, they’re not even real! Many people only share their best moments or exaggerated versions of their success. So, stop basing your progress on what others claim they’ve achieved. Focus on your own journey, and remember that every step forward, no matter how small, is still progress. Now that you’ve got these tips, which one resonates with you the most? How do you manage your daily tasks while working remotely? Share your insights in the comments below! ?? #ProductivityTips #RemoteWorkLife #TimeManagement
