I reimagined a school bus manufacturer from my hometown that existed from 1918 - 2001 in Mitchell, Indiana. Carpenter Body Works was founded by Mr. Ralph H. Carpenter, a blacksmith who repaired and built horse-drawn wagons. I wondered what the brand would look like today if it were electric. The company used a knight’s helmet as its logo. With so many DoD contractors in Indiana, one name that has caught my attention was ManTech. They work in cybersecurity, intelligence, software, and data, but their logo seemed a bit plain to me. ?Since ManTech operates in the digital space, I envisioned an updated logo where the 'M' resembles a spike, symbolizing strength and precision, while the 'T' is grounded, giving a solid foundation to the 'M'. ?I also felt that the typography could use a refresh, swapping from a serif to a modern sans-serif font that fits better with their digital identity.
