We often get asked what type of services we offer. One of them is reality capture conversion! ?? Beast Code has worked on several projects where we convert 2D technical drawings into 3D representations. The problem is there’s typically not enough information to build a high-fidelity model of the platform. Or the documentation doesn’t reflect the “as maintained” representation. Once the models are developed, we must manually verify they match the real-life asset. While these models still provide an incredible benefit to our users, the process isn’t ideal. ?? One solution is 3D scanning technology. These scans sample the layout of a space and record a bunch of data points on the surfaces in that space, sometimes up to millimeter precision. One of the services we offer is 3D product model development! ??? Many of our customers don’t have access to 3D models. This is typically a result of the platform being built prior to modern design tools being readily available. In other cases, CAD models do exist, but were not procured as part of the acquisition process. There’s also an in-between use case where the user has CAD models, but they don’t reflect the “as-maintained” state of the platform. ?? Beast Code has encountered all these challenges across the DoD and provides a service to convert legacy data into a 3D product model. This includes bringing together 3D assets with metadata and technical documents in a relational format. The process starts by gathering all available documentation such as drawings, photos, manuals, models, databases, spreadsheets, tribal knowledge, and point cloud scans. ?? Next, our team works with your organization to document how all these data points are interrelated, stitches them together, and reviews the resulting product for accuracy. Using the Beast Core software, we can visualize how your data is organized and quickly make changes. The final product can be exported into a #ProductLifecycleManagement (PLM) tool and configuration managed for the remaining life of the platform. ?? ??
