Journaling and writing can be a powerful way for us to process. So today we are sharing a practice: Journaling and writing. Get friends, family, community together to write. Or maybe make time to write with your therapist or wellness practitioner. Use these affirmation prompts to help you begin to process. If in groups remember: To be heard and validated is often what people need, not always advice. However you choose to engage, make time to process and recommit to creating a world where everyone feels cared for even in their most difficult moments. Save these journal prompts for reflection during your quiet moments ????♂??? ?#SuicideAwarenessMonth #healingjustice #mentalhealth

We remember our trans loved ones, and today we take time to process our grief and fortify our commitment to ending transphobia everywhere. Collect your people and use these writing prompts to discuss, share and build with each other. Doing our ongoing grief and emotional work is a big part of our liberation.

A reminder that as a community of Black folks of all genders, we must fight for and alongside our trans siblings. A reminder to our Black trans youth #YouBelongHere!! https://lnkd.in/d-w5NVjH

STOP SCROLLING! As things continue to escalate in our political climate, we have to strengthen our care strategies so we can show up for ourselves and to fight back. This meditation by founder and E.D of Black Boys Om, Danny Fluker, from our #BlackHealingRemixed program offers us a moment of peace and presence. Prioritize yourself today. Save this video and come back to it or take your moment to breathe and be present with us now. ????????????????

WE STILL BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF OUR COMMUNITIES TO HEAL. We are in grief, we are in sadness and we are in shock at the results of this election. And we still believe in the power of our communities to heal. And we still believe in our legacy of resistance. BEAM is offering community space in Atlanta and in Los Angeles. In Atlanta we will be at Constellations ATL and in Los Angeles at Black Being in Inglewood. Let's come together for nourishment, healing practices and support. Let us be clear: We are not giving up on freedom, and we are not giving up on us. For more tools and resources, visit our website at www.beam.community

Two weeks ago BEAM’s core team gathered in New Orleans to set intentions and strategic plans for 2025. During this time of such heightened tension, we know that our work of building collective power with Black therapists, healers and wellness advocates across the nation is critical work. The folks you see pictured here at our closing gratitude circle are the roots at BEAM, but they are by no means the only folks holding our work! Our national network of healers, organizations and collaborators make BEAM’s work possible. And we are grateful for each and every one of them! Want to support our work? You can make an end of year, tax deductible donation at beam.community/donate

Barbershops have been a space of healing for decades, and our barbers are our healers. We recently hosted a special edition of Black Masculinity (Re)imagined, where we conducted a mental health training for barbers. Providing a space for barbers to be vulnerable, discuss how mental health impacts their work, and distributing a few of our favorite tools and models was just what we needed. Mental health training for people who work with men and masculine folks, in non-conventional counseling settings is very important to the work that we do here at BEAM. We want to thank TRUE MEN Barbershop in Los Angeles for hosting this dynamic event and making this work possible. Our team is very proud of the work we were able to get done that day!
