Just a friendly reminder from Beach Break Insurance Agency. Be careful! I just saw on the news where a nice lady answered a call that had the caller ID from her bank. They posed to be the fraud department and even sent a "courier" to her house to pick up her debit card. Once they had that, they locked her out of her account and took ALL her money. With most VOIP systems, you can make your caller ID say whatever you want. It always seems like "How do people fall for this?" But it happens every day, and scammers can be very good and experts at being convincing. If ANYONE calls asking personal information, HANG UP and call the company directly. It stinks, but as scammers get better, we need to change our habits. When your phone rings, even if it is a company that you recognize, simply hang up and call the company back. It is a shame we need to always be on our toes, but be diligent.
