"Dear Be the Gift volunteers and staff, Thank you so much for helping me out and giving up a part of your Saturday to make my house more of a home for my girls and I. As a newly single mom, I’ve had a lot to juggle in addition to normal parenthood (getting rid of obvious safety concerns outside and in the garage, trying to clean, organize and furnish the inside and basic yard maintenance with last year’s weeds and overgrown bushes. I’ve tried to make a dent myself but it has only been a dent and it was often very discouraging. I’m so grateful for your help today which will help make my yard a little more kid friendly. My daughter especially wanted me to thank you for helping get rid of the spiders that are all over the house and porch. You have not just given me the gift of making my home safer for the three of us, but you have given me the gift of time by taking some things off of my plate allowing me to tackle other projects and most importantly, spend time with my kids." #togetherwecandosomuch

#workdaywednesday Be the Gift and our team of volunteers helped a single mom and her family with her kitchen counter and some other small projects around the home. Her kitchen counter was unstable. Our team was able to come in and provided and new counter and put in some cabinets securing the counter better. It was a great transformation for this mom and her kids. We LOVE our team! #togetherwecandosomuch

#internationalwomensday Be the Gift believes some of the greatest heroes of our time are single moms who give their lives to raise their children and provide for them. With their limited income and all their time poured into their kids, single moms sometimes struggle to maintain and repair their home. We are honored to be able to serve these women in our community! #workdaywednesday Be the Gift received a nomination for a Single Mom who needed some trees and bushes trimmed. The tree was hanging low over the sidewalk and this could have resulted in a fine due to how low it was. Be the Gift and our team of volunteers were able to trim the tree so that she would not be fined and were able to trim some extra bushes and trees for her. Many of the moms our team sees, do not have the time to maintain yard work or home repairs. We love being able to help with this, so they have less to worry about. #WorkdayWednesday Be the Gift and our team of volunteers were able to help a grandmother who was raising her granddaughter in her home. There was some work in the bathroom that did not get completed and she needed her floor finished and the toilet put back in. Our team came in and was able to complete the work for her. There are many stories that our team sees where the work is started but is never finished and the families loose trust in companies or people. We strive to build up hope and trust again with these families by completing the work that needs to be done. #workdaywednesday Be the Gift and our team of volunteers received a request from a single mom who had lost her husband a few years back. Both her front and back decks were coming apart and it was becoming unsafe for her and her children to walk on. The stairs had old, rotted wood and could have fell through at any moment. Our team was at the ready and were able to help repair the decks and they turned out so nice! We are so glad that we are able to provide safe, healthy and functional homes to our single mom families! #togetherwecandosomuch
