BDRR seeks a Development Assistant to support the efforts of the Philanthropy Department in all aspects of donor support and communication and is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the donor database. The Development Assistant will provide administrative support to The Big Dog Ranch Rescue Foundation team working to advance the organization’s mission by ensuring sustainable funding for our work, primarily supporting senior staff.?He or she must be extremely detail-oriented and work to ensure the delivery of impeccable donor services. Necessary Skills ·????????Highly organized with strong time management skills ·????????Accountable and dependable ·????????Team player and open to collaboration with all departments ·????????Excellent letter-writing skills ·????????Proficiency with Blackbaud, Raisers Edge donor database data entry ·????????Technical proficiency and accuracy of data entry ·????????Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint ·????????Non-profit experience a plus ? Duties Include? Event Support ·????????Assist as needed in running database reports for event invitation lists ·????????Research giving information for potential and confirmed guest attendees ·????????Track RSVPs, create seating charts, and assist with follow-up communications to invitees ·????????Create place cards for hosted tables upon request ·????????Day of event assistance - registration, handling problems, etc.? ·????????Post-event reconciliation of event donations and data import to Raisers Edge ·????????Collection of all outstanding donation pledges ·????????During event season nights and weekends are required as needed ? Prospect Research ·????????Database reporting and queries as requested by senior staff ·????????Identify existing donors with greater giving capacity ·????????Research new contacts made by senior staff ·????????Research corporations and foundations whose funding priorities match Big Dog Ranch Rescue's goals ? General Administrative and Database Support to the development department ·????????Manage updates to the constituent database, including new constituent records, actions, and proper constituent coding ·????????Maintain and update mailing lists in Raisers Edge and MailChimp ·????????Produce enterprise reports as requested by senior staff ·????????Enter gifts daily, create and circulate gift reports ·????????Work closely with the finance department to ensure the accuracy and reconciliation of gift management ·????????Assist with inquiries from existing or prospective donors ·????????Donor correspondence including tax receipts, acknowledgment letters, thank you, birthday, condolence, honor/memorial letters, cards, and gifts ·????????Write, proofread, edit, and send correspondence for gift officers, including but not limited to:?Pledge Agreements, invoices, donor letters, and gift proposals Email resumes to [email protected]

Big Dog Ranch Rescue guests begin their stays with vaccinations, comprehensive medical and dental evaluations including spay/neuter/microchip followed by appropriate treatment and therapy. Emergency and urgent care is provided on campus by our expert team. We have world-class veterinarians, caregivers, and state-of-the-art intake and quarantine facilities which provide gold-standard routine and life-saving services to injured and ill dogs.
