This week, #BCSEMember ACR at Winrock International recognized trailblazing individuals and organizations for their commitments to #climate action and carbon markets at its 2025 ACR Climate Impact Awards in Los Angeles. This year's recipients included earth system scientist Carlos A. Nobre, Arbor Day Foundation, Duke University and Grupo Perú (ANECAP AIDESEP - Asociación Interétnica de Desarrollo de la Selva Peruana, and CONAP) and the Ministry of Environment of Perú. “From the conservation of the Amazon rainforest to reforestation in the Mississippi Delta and the destruction of potent greenhouse gases, the carbon market is incentivizing impactful climate action during this critical decade,” said Mary Grady, Executive Director of ACR. “The 2025 ACR Climate Impact Award winners show that we all have important roles to play – scientists, governments, nonprofits, Indigenous Peoples, academia and companies – to advance climate solutions. According to new report by Energy Innovation Policy and Technology LLC, dismantling federal energy tax credits will cause job cuts, throw away hundreds of billions of dollars of investment, and significantly increase energy costs for U.S. businesses and households. America needs more energy now, and maintaining these tax credits is key to supporting the wide-scale deployment of energy solutions. Since 2022, BCSE has worked with Congress and key industries to ensure the efficient implementation of energy tax credits - and utilize tax policy as a market-based tool to drive investment in efficient and modern energy products and services.
