Peanut Allergen Concerns in Garlic – How BCFoods Ensures Safety BCFoods is aware of the recent issue regarding peanut allergens being detected in garlic in the EU and potentially elsewhere. We take food safety seriously and want to assure our customers that our garlic meets the highest allergen control standards. As one of the leading global producers of dehydrated garlic, with our own dehydration factories in China and India, we have strict protocols in place to prevent cross-contamination. A key part of our allergen control program is in-house ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) testing, a highly sensitive method used to detect allergenic proteins. By conducting ELISA testing directly within our facilities, we ensure real-time monitoring and compliance with peanut allergen regulations before our products ever leave our hands. Additionally, we collaborate with FARRP (Food Allergy Research & Resource Program)?to stay ahead of emerging allergen risks and continually refine our testing protocols. The BCFoods team recently attended the International Spice Conference in Bengaluru, India, a key event uniting global spice producers and consumers. Our CEO, Mike Liu, participated in a panel discussion?on "Policy Advocacy: The Critical Role of Industry Bodies," highlighting the importance of regulatory collaboration and sustainability in the spice industry, as well as provided a crop report on Chinese spices.? In addition to insightful discussions on AI, regulatory harmonization, and market trends, the conference provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with customers and suppliers from around the world. These face-to-face interactions allowed us to explore industry challenges, share ideas, and collaborate on innovative solutions for the future. The team also visited our Mahuva factory, where they had the opportunity to witness the onion harvest and dehydration process in action, experiencing firsthand our focus on quality, efficiency, and vertical integration to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of premium ingredients.
