As we honor the military service of all US Veterans, we would like to shine a light on the sacrifices of the US military’s 1st Woman Soldier— #CathayWilliams—a Black woman who served in the U.S. Army posing as a man- ‘William Cathay’, and fought for a country that had not yet granted her freedom. Since the beginning, BLACK WOMEN & MEN have long sacrificed for this nation, and today we recognize their resilience and contributions along with so many, many more!
