A vault housing brand new electrical service, replacing ancient components to deliver more power and reliability for residents’ appliances and other needs. It may seem like just a utility cover, but installing this upgrade was no easy task. Congratulations to The Unity Council on this new community space that will provide resources to positively impact the Fruitvale community and Oakland. Located in the heart of the Fruitvale Transit Village, this long vacant historic building offers 10,000 square feet of space for offices and community assembly for entrepreneurs, local businesses, nonprofits and artists. Here are a few before and after images that show how, as a team, we managed to retain many of the historic details while revitalizing this beautiful turn of the century building.
