Exciting news from one of our incredible Bigs, Mel Hammond! Mel, an award-winning author, just co-wrote her latest book, Lucy, Uncensored, with her sister, Teghan Hammond. This powerful novel follows an out-and-proud transgender teen on a road trip of self-discovery, gender identity, and finding your place after high school. It’s the perfect read for anyone 14+, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community or those figuring out who they are. Our Matches recently enjoyed a special performance by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra Quintet during their Family Series concert! WCO's Family Series is a free program that invites families with kids of all ages to explore classical music together in a relaxed setting - where moving around and making noise is welcomed and encouraged. The concert, Sharing is for Everyone, featured beautiful music paired with a book, creating a unique experience for everyone. One of our Littles, who just started our Super Strings program with WCO, was especially excited to share his love of the cello.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County was able to be apart of Summit Credit Union Volunteer Connections event today. We were alongside other fantastic nonprofits in the community sharing available volunteer opportunities with Summit Credit Union employees. Summit Credit Union thank you for your continuous support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County. I've been to the main office so much it's starting to feel like home. ??
