It’s been a busy winter at Bay Engineering with a full slate of projects. To show our appreciation for the team’s hard work, we organized a fun afternoon of axe throwing, virtual golf, and even racing simulators! Turns out, some of our team are surprisingly skilled axe throwers, and our intern might secretly be a pro golfer. A big thank you to everyone at BEI for your dedication—your efforts don’t go unnoticed!

February is a big month at BEI. Some of our most experienced engineers celebrate their anniversaries with us this month. Now, our newest employee is celebrating his first year on our team. Connor Brown, we are so happy to have you with us! You've already proved to be an invaluable addition to BEI, in the office and the field (we hear you are a great sport about diving into muddy ballast tanks), and we look forward to supporting your continued growth as you reach out for new goals.

This month we celebrate decades of dedication and hard work from an amazing long-time employee. Bradley Wiegand, Senior Structure Engineer and FEA expert, has been with us for 20 years! Every day he brings experience, professionalism, and comradery to our team. We are so proud and appreciative of all you do Brad! Thank you! Here's to many more successful years ahead!

January brings exciting news! We are delighted to welcome Caleb Breckenfelder as our winter intern. Caleb is a junior at Webb University, studying Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. After graduation, he aspires to design cruise ships. In the meantime, we are happy to have him with us at BEI. Welcome Caleb!

Another grand day out at the 4th annual BEI Golf Outing! We missed a few people this year, but we had beautiful weather and brought our fearless leader, Travis Martin, PE, PMP, along in spirit despite his cold. Can't wait for the next one!

We are truly proud of our hardworking team here and love celebrating their big moments. Today we especially want to acknowledge the dedication and effort that goes into becoming a Professional Engineer. As of today, we are officially home to six licensed PEs! Congratulations to Matt Weklar on achieving this great milestone! You've been balancing family, work, and the pursuit of your professional goals beautifully. Seeing you mentor and encourage others makes us even more delighted to celebrate your success! Well done, and thanks for being such a great part of our team! We are proud to have you with us.

Congratulations to the FINCANTIERI team on completing another impressive and standout project with the delivery of The Progress, the largest LNG bunker barge in the U.S. maritime industry for Crowley! We are celebrating a proud moment here at BEI. Our very own Nicole Griggs, Senior Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, recently attended her 10-year reunion at Stevens Institute of Technology, where she was awarded the Harold R. Fee 1920 Alumni Achievement Award for her contributions to a "vibrant and supportive alumni community at Stevens." We can attest that vibrant and supportive are both excellent descriptions of Nicole, and she has brought those qualities to Bay Engineering. Nicole is not only a dedicated and hardworking employee, but she also leads, trains, inspires, and contributes daily to the humor and camaraderie we enjoy as a group. Thank you, Nicole Griggs, for being an awesome and irreplaceable part of our team! Congratulations on your award! You truly deserve it!
