We are excited to announce that we’ve restarted our first IV fluids line at our North Cove facility. Initial batches will be manufactured concurrently with ongoing quality activities and would only be released in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements to ensure the quality and safety of the products. Thanks to the entire team across Baxter and our remediation partners for their hard work and dedication, and the ongoing support of federal, state and local government agencies. While we are encouraged by what we’ve accomplished in a month, our work is not done. The remediation of our North Cove facility calls for all hands on deck. Our ~2,500 North Cove employees have been joined on site by engineers and supply chain leaders from Baxter sites in Round Lake, Illinois; Jayuya, Puerto Rico; and Campocologno, Switzerland; who are supporting the recovery with their specialized expertise. The expanded team also currently includes ~1,000 remediation contractors. Together, they are working to ready the site for the phased restart of production. Our first shipments of product authorized for temporary importation arrived in the U.S. over the weekend. By the end of the year, we project that collectively ~200 airplanes full of product will be delivered to the U.S., which represents nearly 18,000 tons of product.
