Battleship New Jersey was honored to host the officers and crew of the SSN-796 as a part of their Commissioning Week. It was a privilege to have active duty sailors aboard to meet veterans from each commissioning of the Battleship, to enjoy tours, and to celebrate the continuation of the USS New Jersey legacy! Bravo Zulu to the SSN-796 on your Commissioning tomorrow! #FirepowerforFreedom USS New Jersey (SSN 796) Commissioning Committee ??: Rich Ratner

Battleship New Jersey was incredibly honored today to welcome aboard RADM Ronald D. Tucker, the ship’s 19th and final commanding officer. He was also joined by one of his former BB62 officers, CDR Michael Burke. Back in March, we flew our WETSU battle flag on the way to dry dock. The WETSU phrase was imparted to the crew by RADM Tucker during his time as CO, and we're proud to pay homage to it. We eat this stuff up!

Welcome to New Jersey! Battleship New Jersey is excited to see the USS New Jersey (SSN 796) transit to Naval Weapons Station Earle ahead of her commissioning this week on September 14.
It was thrilling to welcome USS New Jersey (SSN 796) and her crew to NJ for the start of Commissioning Week! Hundreds of people lined the beaches at Fort Hancock waving flags and cheering as the boat passed.

This August, we were honored to host the Chief Petty Officer Heritage Academy for our 15th year! Each year it brings together chief petty officers and selectees from different commands all over the country to stay aboard the Big J, to demonstrate the core values of the Navy, to facilitate mentorship and to enhance their leadership skills. Chief-selectees participated in damage control training on our pier and various COMRELs throughout the ship. We’re proud to continue bringing together active duty and Navy reservists on board Battleship New Jersey! ??: U.S. Navy photos by Senior Chief Mass Communication Specialist Gina K. Witness Battleship New Jersey’s epic journey from dry dock at the Philadelphia Naval Yard to Paulsboro Marine Terminal for deballast work then back to her home port in Camden, New Jersey. Just two months ago, this legendary ship voyaged home to continue her decades of service as a museum & memorial, and the work continues! Thank you to the team at Elevated Angles LLC for capturing her historic journey from the blocks in dry dock and underway on the Delaware River! #DryDockNJ

We are thrilled to announce that the Battleship New Jersey has been awarded a generous grant from the Connelly Foundation! This grant will play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to improve our museum spaces and continue the restoration of this historic ship. There is always work being done to preserve this living artifact, as our goal is to educate visitors about the storied history of the USS New Jersey and of those who served onboard. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Connelly Foundation for their invaluable contribution.
