Battleship New Jersey Museum & Memorial

Thank you to the Southern New Jersey Development Council! Battleship New Jersey is honored to be this year's SNJDC Tourism Award winner. We're proud to be home ported in Camden, and get to bring in visitors from around the world who support other local businesses of Camden County and beyond. We hope to see you all on Friday, October 18 - congratulations to all of this year's winners!

Last week, Battleship New Jersey completed the last piece of outstanding maintenance from dry docking. Crews worked to reattach the SPS49 air search radar and the mast, which were removed earlier this year for the ship to safely transit under the Walt Whitman Bridge to dry dock. The museum worked to not only restore the ship to how she looked before, but we also aimed to make her look even more complete! We added a replica SPQ9 fire control radar dome that was kindly donated to the museum from @Infinite Technologies RCS. In the late 80’s when the ship got remotely-piloted drones, this would have been the radar to control those. Thanks to our incredible maintenance staff, we also were able to add on the port side a full set of harpoon missile launch canisters. These new additions to the exterior of the ship are an extraordinary achievement for the museum as we work to preserve her to her 1990 configuration. We're excited for you all to see it too! Battleship New Jersey was honored to host the officers and crew of the SSN-796 as a part of their Commissioning Week. It was a privilege to have active duty sailors aboard to meet veterans from each commissioning of the Battleship, to enjoy tours, and to celebrate the continuation of the USS New Jersey legacy! Battleship New Jersey was incredibly honored today to welcome aboard RADM Ronald D. Tucker, the ship’s 19th and final commanding officer. He was also joined by one of his former BB62 officers, CDR Michael Burke. Back in March, we flew our WETSU battle flag on the way to dry dock. The WETSU phrase was imparted to the crew by RADM Tucker during his time as CO, and we're proud to pay homage to it. We eat this stuff up!
