First time I have heard of a Tesla big rig catching on fire, not the load the tractor.

EV battery fires can be very damaging. This recent fire of Mercedes EV in underground parking garage in Seoul/Korea has prompted removal of charging stations from underground parkings to the outside. Check WSJ publication (link is below) for details. Looks like this car was not even under charge when burst in flames. Based on an additional information from Korea, it was Mercedes EQE with NCM batteries produced by Farasis Energy . Car had actually exploded sending 23 people to hospital. https://lnkd.in/eVF7tC8G

As an undergraduate student at Lehigh University double majoring in Integrated Business and Engineering and Electrical Engineering, he will work closely with the team to further advance our product offering. In the past I've worked as a quality engineer intern on thermal imagers, and this summer I will be working with Batteryze!" Last evening in Oakland (April 12, 2024), Saad said ... well, at least in California, they have the public meetings and forums where folks are listening to you even if they are pursuing the ongoing agenda ... and I'm humbled to have that opportunity both in Bakersfield and now here in San Francisco. It’s also noteworthy to mention ... the level of honesty, humility and sincerity ... that I’ve experienced from policymakers and regulators during our conversations and sessions. That now gives us hope that we will achieve this #energy transition. The industry thought the present day EV's DC platform could be bankrolled for an equitable, sustainable, transportation electrification on a renewables grid. Well, that isn’t happening in California. During 2010-2022, California's average retail electricity rates have increased at an upward slope ?? that's ... 400+% of the slope ?? of increase of the average electricity rates of the US. The two slopes probably have diverged even further now. While it's difficult to predict when the two slopes will start to converge, the experience in California can’t be any different for the majority of the US as more vehicles continue to charge on a grid that's becoming more volatile and intermittent. Also, it'll not help us to compare our ???? grid to that of China or Norway - it depends on the country's electricity's energy mix. More details in comment below. Last month, at the Inaugural Vehicle Grid Integration Forum, we finally heard the CPUC ask: Why isn't the industry making V2G-AC happen? The EV manufacturer that wanted to lead with V2G, openly told us at the forum, their V2G wouldn't scale without major subsidies from the State. At the first opportunity, our elegant Les Mood reminded everyone there, that subsidies didn't work for rooftop solar in California so, how could it now work for the present V2G solution? For context, in California, most cannot even afford today's EVs … Very soon even charging at California's electricity rates will cost more than gasoline vehicles. Les is a true believer in rooftop solar, so is yours humbly. We just don't have all the necessary #innovation commercialized yet … of the tools necessary for the ... bidirectional AC distribution grid ...the Future Grid?. When new innovation and #technology development are at stake, we don’t have the time or the resources to continue to invest for the DC platform and expect it will scale and become sustainable for all. Am I missing something, does this post say anything inaccurate? Please let me know. Because, if you aren't following our developments in California then you're probably missing out on one of the greatest energy transformations in our lifetimes – which keeps us humbled, detailed and focused. Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) in Sacramento Day was a success! With the leadership of Williams Lopez, Matt Petersen, and the rest of our government relations team, we attended over 26 meetings with State Senators and Assemblymembers throughout the day advocating for support to continue the incredible work LACI is doing to train individuals in skills to join the green workforce, support startups with validating and commercializing their technologies through pilots, and so many other programs at our organization. LACI hosted its annual "LACI in Sacramento Day" yesterday. The event saw 15 delegates from LACI participate in 26 meetings with policymakers and staff. The day concluded with a reception at The Sheraton, with Chair Liane Randolph, Senator Josh Becker and other state leaders in attendance. The delegates were in Sacramento to highlight LACI’s work to build an inclusive and equitable green economy in the LA region.
