Better Together. Activating generosity by helping members find and fund impactful organizations, people, and projects.
关于我们
The Battery Founders, Michael and Xochi Birch, envisioned a community that could express generosity and commitment. Battery Powered is a giving program that is bringing club members together to do just that. By supporting organizations and learning from frontline experts, The Battery community can do more together than would be ever be possible alone. Since our founding, we have given out over $15 million in grants to organizations making change in: California Prison Reform, The Future of San Francisco, Extreme Global Poverty, Early Childhood Education, Mental Health, Environment (Resource Revolution and Conservation of Oceans & Tropical Forests), Arts & Creative Process, Women's Health & Dignity, Education to Workforce Development, Gun Safety, Childhood Nutrition, Healthy Democracy, and Homelessness. Battery Powered is a program of The Battery Foundation, an independent 501c3 nonprofit.

Homelessness in San Francisco is a multifaceted challenge, but there are effective strategies to address it. For over a decade, Open Door Legal has been helping those near homelessness enforce their rights. A recent study highlighted in the San Francisco Examiner found that their presence in Bayview reduced homelessness by approximately 50% from 2011 to 2022, even as it increased by over 50% citywide. Read more about their impact and a notable case in the article. We're proud that?Open Door Legal is one of our?grantees in our spring 2022 Housing & Homelessness theme. #Homelessness #LegalAid #CommunityImpact #SanFrancisco
