Our President, Benjie Bates, had a wonderful and meaningful conversation on the impact of investing in employees through benefits and what we see in our own local community.

Do employees say THANK YOU for the benefits you offer? Being in #humanresources and #benefits you rarely get told THANK YOU. Think about it: #HR and #benefits are THANKLESS positions. You RARELY are giving out "good news" and if you do... It's expected... "I work here... I deserve X,Y,Z" I always use the analogy of the flight attendant ???????? When's the last time you got off the flight and said "THANK YOU.. y'all nailed it" on a "normal flight" ??your soda had the perfect amount of bubbles ?? ?? your pretzels were adequately salted, but not too much ?? ?? you took off on time and landed early ?? NOPE... that's what you expect. But if you are late? Lost luggage ?? Or the wifi is down ???? You are telling the world?? Employees do the same with #benefits They only tell you about the NEGATIVE... Imagine if your #healthplan was designed so employees said "WOW... thank you... this is the BEST!" This is what we reviewed yesterday and I wanted to review the FACTS #numbersdontlie Friday: Amy Lein, SPHR, SHRM-SCP from Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida told us: 4?? years = the last time they increase #employee costs ??????DPC is a HIT.. voluntary enrollment has gone from 30% to over 80% ?? Employees pay $0 when they use the DPC or go to the recommended facility for care ?? Costs (vs. the status quo) continue to DECREASE!!! Benjie Bates from Bates Hewett & Floyd told us: ??????his town of Palatka, Fl doesn't have enough primary care ?? the local hospital sees 2,500 ER visits monthly ?????? ?? employees were having to drive over an hour for care as an #adviser, he took these facts and helped his #publicsector client implement an advanced primary care location with PeopleOne Health... In less than the first quarter... they need more hours? as employees and their families are LOVING it!! Jordan Taradash CEO of PeopleOne Health told us: ?? 40% of people are DELAYING/OMITTING care because of cost ??employees are saving $1,000 with this model and employers MORE ?? most importantly... changing the model restores the sense of "I belong" to employees So, let's recap: ??you can offer BETTER benefits at a LESSER cost ?? you can show #EMPLOYEES you care ???? employees will tell YOU... THANK YOU ??? you can impact your community SOOOOO... my question... What are your plans to IMPROVE benefits, LOWER costs, LOVE employees more, IMPACT your community?? If your strategy for 2025 doesn't "check those boxes" ???? GET.A.NEW.STRATEGY Tell me your THANK YOU story Emma Fox, CHVA, Deb Ault, Rachel Strauss ??, Anthony Masotto, Kasha Ozog, Braden Monaco, Peter Rowe

Understanding the cost of commercial insurance is crucial for every business owner. It's not just about the size of your company—here are five key factors to keep in mind: 1. Industry Type: The nature of your business significantly impacts insurance costs. High-risk industries like construction or manufacturing often face higher premiums due to the increased likelihood of claims. Knowing this helps you anticipate and manage your insurance expenses. 2. Business Size and Revenue: Larger businesses with higher revenues typically pay more for insurance. This is because they usually have more assets to protect and face greater potential liabilities. Regularly reviewing your coverage as your business grows is essential to ensure you're adequately protected without overpaying. 3. Location: Where your business is located can influence your insurance rates. Areas prone to natural disasters, like floods or earthquakes, may lead to higher premiums. Additionally, local crime rates and the proximity of emergency services can also affect costs. 4. Claims History: If your business has a history of frequent insurance claims, insurers may view you as a higher risk, leading to increased premiums. Maintaining a clean claims record can help keep your insurance costs in check. 5. Safety Measures: Implementing robust safety protocols can positively impact your insurance premiums. Insurers often offer discounts to businesses that prioritize workplace safety, as it reduces the likelihood of accidents and claims. Regularly reviewing and understanding these factors can lead to significant savings and better protection for your business. Stay informed, stay protected.
