Cocktails in the Park ~ July 27th 7-10pm An event dedicated to showcasing downtown restaurants while raising funds for Batavia MainStreet, Cocktails in the Park includes live music, delicious appetizers, and of course, cocktails! Tickets go on sale June 1st for $40. ?? The Batavia Boardwalk Shops ~ Open Fridays 10am- 5pm, Saturdays 9am- 5pm & Sundays 11am- 4pm through December 22. Visit our ten new shops for freeze-dried candy, clothing, art & oddities, home decor, and much more! ?? Block Party & Taste of Batavia ~ September 1st 4-9pm Celebrate Labor Day weekend at the Downtown Batavia Block Party & Taste of Batavia! The party comes complete with awesome live music, car show, pie bake off, enormous FREE kid's area and of course- dancing! $5 adult entrance fee, kids are free. Batavia MainStreet is a non-profit organization & proceeds from our events help to fund downtown projects and programs like the Batavia Farmers' Market & Batavia Boardwalk Shops.

In honor of our 25th Anniversary, MainStreet is taking a look back at how the downtown landscape has changed- Then & Now. The Batavia Farmers' Market started in 1995, originally on Water Street, between Wilson and First. Some of the early vendors included Paw Paw Farms, M&D Farms, Stojan's Vegetables and Erehwon Farms. 2007 marked the first year the Market started featuring products that were not "agricultural in nature." Nello's Motorcycles sponsored the first Farmer's Market theme day in 2006, which was all about motorcycles. Riders were encouraged to visit the market with their bikes and to bring a recipe to share using ingredients from the market. Our outdoor market season begins this Saturday, May 18 and will combine with the Artisan Collective Batavia to feature nearly 100 vendors from 8am- 12pm on N. River St. Batavia MainStreet is excited to premiere a Wednesday evening market this June- August to allow for two opportunities to shop local produce, meats, baked goods, and more each week. They reviewed the results of nearly 500 survey responses, led focus groups with residents, business & property owners, City staff & alderman, and helped to create a transformation strategy with our MainStreet staff and board.
