The future of healthcare is here—and it’s driven by policy reform, interoperability, and AI. In my latest Forbes article (co-written with our CEO & co-founder, Amber Nigam), I explore the major challenges and opportunities in transitioning to value-based care, and how innovations in prior authorization, CMS reforms, and interoperability standards like FHIR/HL7 are paving the way for a more efficient, patient-centered system. We break down: ??The shift from fee-for-service to value-based models ??Why CMS reforms in prior authorization matter ??How interoperability can make or break healthcare delivery ??What it will take to get there Grateful to be part of a team at?basys.ai?that’s building toward this future every day. Nothing less than brutal honesty is required between founders (am I right, Jie?) when starting a company. Found this Post-it note today from back in the day when we used to pitch the startup to customers, investors, and friends to join us. When you’re pitching your idea, it’s easy to get overly enthusiastic. Someone needs to pull you back—to cut it short or dial it down a few notches. This was our way of keeping each other honest. We got a lot of feedback from customers and investors that, as founders, we were so in sync it felt like we were finishing each other’s sentences—on Zoom and in person. Perhaps no one will ever know how much effort that took, not that they need to. These notes, scribbles on the wall, a kick under the table—our little ways of keeping things in check. What about yours?

Clinicians And Algorithms: Misconceptions By Healthcare AI Companies Clinicians are not passive users. They’re resourceful problem-solvers who adapt to less-than-perfect tools while keeping their focus on patient care. Despite this ingenuity, many AI companies fail to grasp the complexities of clinical workflows. Instead, they design tools based on the assumption that algorithms can outperform the very professionals they aim to assist. In this post for Forbes Business Council, Amber Nigam shares his vision on why AI still can't replace physicians and how Healthcare AI companies can align their solutions with the needs of clinicians and patients: https://lnkd.in/dFxmEW44 #clinicians #nurses #innovation #AI #healthtech #wearenina

Fluency is not intelligence—especially in healthcare AI. "?????????? ?????? ?????????? ?? ???????????????????? ????????’?? ?????????? 70% ????????????????? ???????? ?????? ?????????? ???????????????????? ???? ?????????????? ?????????????????? ?????????????????????"-Dan Roth. At this stage, Generative AI is unsettlingly adept at mimicking intelligence and convincing the untrained eye even when it lacks true understanding. This begs the question of whether we can trust AI in clinical settings. While there’s no silver bullet, a clinician-in-the-loop approach and proprietary data science models—designed to complement and validate Generative AI—can keep it in check. Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA and I explore this and more in our latest piece: https://lnkd.in/e3bmSwUg basys.ai

After months of dissecting why foundation models fall short in clinical settings, we tested our platform on an unseen dataset. Standard LLMs dropped or even invented about 30% of the details, while our curated, clinician-focused approach caught nearly everything—and flagged the rest. This is irrefutable proof that precision in healthcare starts with listening to clinicians. Proud of my team’s outstanding work and excited for what’s next.

I’ve spent the past couple of months breaking down why foundation models struggle in clinical settings. Empirical data and conversations with AI and healthcare visionaries have only reinforced the gaps. Today, we put our platform to the test—live, on an unseen dataset. The outcome? Let’s just say it was one of those rare days where superlatives felt earned. Here’s my quick take on the experiment: 1. LLMs dropped 30% of the information or invented details. 2. Our models working in (or out of) sync with LLMs caught nearly all of it—and when we didn’t, we still flagged what was missing or made up. 3. My team delivered in ways I didn’t see coming. 4. The contrast wasn’t just visible—it was irrefutable, independently verified, and a masterclass in why curated solutions win in healthcare. 5. Before you “transform” healthcare, try listening to clinicians first. The juggernaut keeps rolling, and the busiest weekend of the year is on deck. Wouldn’t have it any other way. basys.ai #ClinicianFirstAI #ExecutionTrumpsHype #HealthcareInflectionPoint #EmpiricalEvidenceOverBuzzwords
