The founder mindset has been in the spotlight recently, with Paul Graham’s article on “founder mode” sparking conversation. But I first encountered this ideology years ago in a class at Harvard Business School led by the legendary Reza Satchu. With multiple high-value exits under his belt, Reza teaches by example, and his lessons have shaped the way I approach my own startup journey. One of Reza’s principles has always stuck with me: “Magic happens when you commit.” Early on, my pre-founding team and I were bouncing between ideas, unsure of our direction. But once we made the decision to commit, things started falling into place. It didn’t make everything easy, but it did make us braver and more focused in navigating the path forward. I’ve heard incredible things about Reza’s new HBS course, The Founder Mindset. For anyone considering starting a company—or even those who are still on the fence—I highly recommend it.
