I started my career as an organic chemist. But I quickly realized that while I was drawn to problem-solving, the lab wasn’t where I was best suited to make an impact. Instead, I gravitated toward the operational and technical challenges biotech companies face daily. Over the years, I saw the same issues repeat themselves: disconnected technologies, compliance gaps, and solutions which were unable to unlock expected capabilities. This slowed progress instead of enabling it. Before founding Basis, I spent 25 years leading founding operations for prominent biotech companies in research and clinical development, focused on productivity, security, and compliance. ?? Our missions were different but had a common theme: build at speed, on a budget, and with maximum optionality. ? Most or all of the challenges we encountered had right-sized solutions, but we needed to really understand the team's needs before evaluating our options.
