Business & Society is the leading peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to business and society research. IF 7.0
关于我们
Business & Society aims to be the leading, peer-reviewed outlet for scholarly work dealing specifically with the intersection of business and society. We publish research that develops, tests, and refines theory, and which enhances our understanding of important societal issues and their relation to business. The journal is built on the following aspirations: Openness to diversity. We publish conceptual, empirical, and normative research, based on a variety of disciplinary lenses and methodological approaches. A review process that ensures scholarly excellence not simply conformity to the status quo. We aim to publish innovative work, which at times may deviate from the mainstream of management research by challenging assumptions and/or providing thought-provoking perspectives. However, it will always meet high standards of quality. Timely decision-making on submissions. Authors will be provided with decisions on the publishability of their manuscripts at the earliest possible occasion. Our goal is for the majority of published papers to have received a decision on publishability after the first revision has been evaluated. Founded in 1960, Business & Society was the first journal exclusively dedicated to publishing research in the field of business and society. It is the official journal of the International Association of Business and Society.

SOCIETY FOR BUSINESS ETHICS BEST DISSERTATION AWARD Submissions due May 1, 2025 The Society for Business Ethics (SBE; www.sbeonline.org/) is soliciting abstracts for #dissertations completed between May 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025, to be considered for SBE’s Best Dissertation Award 2025. While dissertations must focus on #businessethics, work from any academic discipline is welcome. The purpose of the award is to recognize the dissertation that, in the judgment of the committee, most clearly demonstrates the potential to contribute to substantial advances in business ethics research and practice. Recent winners of the award have focused on topics such as strategic questions around CSR, the normative implications of monetary systems, and entrepreneurship among women in Afghanistan. Those wishing to be considered for the award should submit an abstract up to 10 pages in length. From among the abstracts, three finalists will be selected and asked to submit full-length dissertations. The award winner will be announced at SBE's Annual Meeting in July. A complete submission will include these 3 separate attachments, all in PDF format without any identifying information in the source file: 1?? An abstract of not more than 10 double-spaced pages of text (including references, tables, figures, and appendices), standard margins throughout, Times New Roman 12-point or similar font. The author’s name, the advisor’s name, and the university’s name should not be mentioned anywhere in the abstract. 2?? A copy of the signature page, with university name, signatures, and date of completion, or similar official evidence of the date of completion of the dissertation. 3?? A title page with the author’s current mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and email address. The title page must be sent as a separate file from the abstract. Please note that the committee welcomes a variety of research approaches, including, for example, #normative/ #philosophical and #socialscience/ #empirical (both #qualitative and #quantitative). Submissions are due May 1, 2025, and should be sent to: Isaac Smith at [email protected] Chair, Society for Business Ethics Best Dissertation Award Committee Brigham Young University, US

Check out new work by Lisa Jones Christensen, Ph.D., MBA (Brigham Young University), Elizabeth Embry (The University of Kansas), Arielle Badger Newman (Syracuse University), and Paul C. Godfrey, offering a theory linking health effects of trauma to performance outcomes at work. In doing so, it suggests how managerial awareness of trauma manifestations is a necessary step toward workplaces becoming supportive or healing. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dDuNFZyn

Delighted to share that the findings from our research paper - co-authored with Sanne Frandsen and Enrico Fontana, PhD – is now published in The Conversation UK. We explored how sustainability managers experience a series of dilemmas between sustainability ideals and corporate demands during in different stages of their career. ? Our Business & Society research paper found that these managers often enter their roles with strong socio-environmental ambitions, but face heavy pressure to prioritise corporate goals. As they progress in their careers, they tend to shift their focus to the bottom-line results of sustainability initiatives and give up on their societal and entrepreneurial orientation.? https://lnkd.in/dqtYNgbx? ? We suggest that fostering a culture of openness where challenges are welcome and a ‘license to critique’ is needed to help maintain the drive for greener and more equitable corporate practices that keep on challenging status quo and business as usual. ?
