GOOD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN YOU INVEST IN GIRLS’ & WOMEN’S SPORTS ???? Since its founding in 2015, the San Francisco Bay Sox Girls' Baseball program has received support from the City of San Francisco as well as San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department. What started as one team in San Francisco’s Youth Baseball League (SFYBL) has transformed into dozens of girls across four divisions—with even more participating in ongoing clinics, teams who compete in #BFANationals , and more. “I am just so proud of the job we are doing,” says Isaac Alcantar, a head coach within the SF Bay Sox organization. We have been able to get a lot of girls confident to keep playing baseball at levels beyond T Ball. This is the work that needs to be done for this to be transformative. With so many teams in SFYBL, baseball can’t help but see how girls fit into the fabric of the game.” Today, under the leadership of visionaries and organizers like Rachelle Henley and Annie Jupiter-Jones, more and more girls — especially those who took home the title in the 16U Minors Division at last year’s #BFANationals — are playing for their high school baseball teams in San Francisco. Sophomores like Simone Velger Aurelio and Lola Snopkowski are both captains of their respective JV baseball teams. Plus, nearly all of these players are freshmen and sophomores making their JV and Varsisty baseball teams — and also serve as coaches during clinics, workouts, and tournaments throughout the year. This strong pipeline is proof of what is possible when people and organizations invest in the future of girls’ baseball. Huge kudos to the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department and the SF Bay Sox for cultivating an environment that supports and propels girls’ baseball forward. #baseballforall #shesup #sheplayswewin #baseballplayers #highschoolbaseball #JVbaseball #varsitybaseball #baseball #girlsinbaseball #girlsbaseball #growthegame #womeninbaseball #girlsplaybaseballtoo #seeherbeher #refusetoquit #futureofbaseball

Angela Noury carrying on her mother's legacy & working to inspire future generations ?? #seeitbeit As well as being a long-time umpire at #BFANationals, Angela Noury was selected as one of 16 women to umpire at the Maria Pepe Legacy Series, hosted by Little League International, where nearly 100 girls in baseball were invited to celebrate the legacy of trailblazer, Maria Pepe. “[Umpiring has] fundamentally changed who I am as a person, and that’s why I have advocated for girls in baseball and why I am still involved with Little League,” she said in a recent interview with Little League. “I try to get more girls into umpiring. Currently, we have a few Junior Umpires who play in our league, and I love working with them and inspiring them to continue with their journey.” After playing Little League for a number of years, Angela followed in her mother’s footsteps to umpire. Now, with over 35+ years umpiring at the youth, high school, collegiate, and independent pro levels of baseball—most recently, she and Kate Hart became among the first women to umpire a Pioneer Baseball League game—Angela continues to find ways to empower and encourage girls to umpire, especially near her home in Oakland, CA.? “My biggest advice is to reach out. Somebody always knows someone. You’re not alone so just reach out. There are umpires out there that are willing to bring you along and help you reach your goals,” she says. Big shoutout to women like Angela who continue to push the game forward and show girls in baseball that they belong everywhere on the field ?? #futureofbaseball #baseballforall #shesup #SeeHerBeHer #littleleague #girlswithgame #womeninbaseball #womenempoweringwomen #futureofbaseball
