Following the Panel’s agreement on the outlines of the Working Group contributions to the Seventh Assessment Report, the IPCC is calling for nominations of experts to assess the body of scientific literature relating to climate change. The three Working Group contributions assess the physical science basis of climate change; impacts, adaptation, and vulnerability; and mitigation of climate change. About $5.4 trillion in foreign direct investment flowed into the country in 2023, with Britain, Canada, Germany and Japan each investing over $600 billion. Over 20% of American securities are foreign owned, including 1/3 of outstanding Treasury debt, more than 1/4 of corporate debt and nearly 1/5 of equities... Collective action — whether quiet or vocal — must be the answer... The president has lost their confidence. Executives are embarrassed talking to overseas partners. Today, hundreds of #NOAA employees were illegally terminated, and this is just the beginning of the Trump Administration's plans to dismantle the agency. This should matter to all of us because we all depend on NOAA whether we realize it or not. Who checks the weather forecast????♀? ??? It’s NOAA satellites and scientists who predict and communicate the weather so it can be widely disseminated, helping us make everyday decisions like what to wear in the morning and providing critical information to support our economy from agriculture to trade. Who eats seafood????♀? ?? It’s NOAA’s role to manage sustainable fisheries that allow you to enjoy seafood safely today and into the future. And by the way, the fishing industry supports over 1.5 million jobs, in addition to providing recreational opportunities. Who enjoys the beach????♀? ??? It’s NOAA’s work to restore and protect coastal environments, including those that have been polluted by oil spills, toxic waste releases, and marine debris that make it possible for you to the beach safely. ??
