One of our program partners, Commún, has been working since 2017 to secure the purchase of Machebeuf Hall, a 39,000 square foot building at the heart of the Loretto Heights campus. The student union and cafeteria building at this historic women’s college has been used as a community gathering space since its inception in 1951. Thanks to Denver's Office of Economic Development, Commún has now purchased Machebeuf Hall and is starting the process of redevelopment! The building’s redevelopment is being informed by intensive community engagement over the past five years in Spanish, English, and Arabic.?The center will highlight the culturally rich and well-established community, which is rapidly expanding through the development of the broader campus. https://lnkd.in/gfs_riUs
