We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join the BEC team. Job Summary?– The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for?the completion of design of utility-scale PV solar projects. He/she will manage third party engineers as they develop the civil, structural, PV electrical, high voltage, energy storage, & SCADA designs from time of project award throughout construction, ensuring all technical requirements, budget, and schedule expectations are met or exceeded. He/she will serve as the technical point of contact for the internal team as well as the project Owner and any subcontractors/suppliers. He/she will coordinate heavily with procurement and project teams to support buy-out and resolve engineering-related issues throughout construction. Responsibilities: -Serve as overall technical lead on the project by answering technical questions, resolving engineering-related issues, and driving design completion. (full-Commitment) -Coordinate between all engineering disciplines ensuring a cohesive overall design that meets technical requirements, budget, and schedule. (high-Character)? -Review and comment on all engineering-related documents including plan sets, shop drawings, equipment specifications, and studies. (true-Craftsmanship)? -Ensure third-party engineering partners understand and design according to (or improve upon) the internal conceptual drawings, assumptions, and takeoffs on which the budget was based at time of project award. (true-Craftsmanship)? -Lead weekly update calls with engineering partners and Owner and manage all engineering related documentation and communication (i.e. RFIs, submittals, transmittals, meeting agendas / notes, etc.). (full-Commitment)? -Coordinate closely with internal procurement team to ensure timely material buyout and with operations team to ensure constructability of design. Celebrating my counterweight… If you know me I’m passionate about my faith, my family & the amazing company I work for. At Barnhart, we’ve had a great season - like many - of growth and success which at times means hard running for many of the team. For those who do find themselves running at a 5k pace, it can be exhausting sometimes. Early in my career, Alan Barnhart said “I want you in this for the long haul. Find your marathon pace”. It has been great council over the years, but there are also times when I need a pace setter. My best pace setter has been my bride of 36 years. She has been my “counterweight”. Being around cranes for over 34 years, you understand the difference between tipping & structural and a crane’s “capacity & stability” has lot to do with how much counterweight you have. The more counterweight the further the reach. My counterweight has been the love of my life who has encouraged me, challenged me, checked me, understood the demands of work, and pulled in the reigns when necessary. The last couple of weeks I’ve put life on hold to celebrate her entering her 6th decade. She deserves way more. What a gift she has been! Here’s to celebrating your counterweight!
