First clear day in a while in the Seattle area, and almost 70 degrees F. Here's our view just now from the top of the building housing Barlow Gallery in Tacoma. No lie. ??

Today, our selection of global artists includes Sébastien Montel, a gifted painter originally from France, born in Nice, studied in Paris, and today create images that are bold and powerful. Artists have many talents, but Sébastien holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Université Paris Descartes, and in his art, you see a reflection of human sensibility, emotional expression, and inner nature. Steve stopped by Barlow Gallery last month, and we had a great talk about the present state of the city of Tacoma. Even today, well past Covid, there are too many empty storefronts, too many empty office buildings, too many days with the downtown core looking like a ghost town. Different business groups gather each month and talk about how great the city is and will become -- but perhaps one answer is for new leadership who will turn aspirations into actions.
