Did you know that 38% of UK investors think investing money is one of life's toughest decisions? According to our research, decision paralysis (the inability to decide out of fear of making the wrong choice) is holding UK savers back from making their first investment. As the FCA considers proposals for the Advice Guidance Boundary Review, we’re calling for policy changes to get more UK savers investing for their future.

In 2024, we achieved our financial targets and remain on track to reach our 2026 Group targets. We delivered a Group RoTE of 10.5% and our profit before tax increased by 24% to ￡8.1bn. We have announced ￡3bn of capital distributions, including ￡1.8bn in buybacks and ￡1.2bn of dividends, increasing our dividend per share by 5% to 8.4p.?We are providing additional guidance for 2025, including a further improvement in Group RoTE to c.11% and a progressive increase on our total payout compared to 2024. I am encouraged by our progress as we focus on delivery. ? Creating a Simpler, Better and More balanced bank is a major undertaking, and our achievements would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our colleagues around the world.
