Another shout out for our Reston and 14th St Barcelona Wine Bar teams. We hosted another amazing dinner at the The Children's Inn at NIH with Leidos in full force! We love this partnership and continuing to bring a little sunshine to the families and kiddos!! Seeing all the smiling faces will forever bring us back. A little over 2 years at Barcelona Wine Bar and what a ride it has been. To say that this has been the opportunity of a lifetime is such an understatement. I’ve been a part of an amazing team of badass people who really mean it when they say “hospitality first.” I don’t like to quantify things as I really like to live in the moment, but just a few numbers: New Restaurant Openings - 3 (and 2 more incoming) New Concept Opening - 1 (Corsica RiNo, you have my heart.) Bev Managers Trained - 12 (and coached many, many more) Trips to Spain - 1 (Vigo, you have my heart) Porrons Given - You’d have to ask the dedicated guests of Passyunk Bravas Eaten - [redacted] American Airlines Miles Accrued - The limit does not exist Wine and Cocktails obsessed over - Countless I thank each and every member of the Barcelona Wine Bar family for being such an inspirationional team to work for and with. Here’s to many more years and many more celebrations!

We bring managers and chefs to Spain because it imbues them with a sense of understanding we can't get any other way. There's a lot that discussion and explanation can do, and then there's waves of "a ha!" moments that only come from being there-- tasting it-- feeling it. We make as many trips a year with different members of the team as we're able-- usually 2 and never the same trip twice. This year, in addition to our usual two trips with managers and chefs, we also held our annual chef retreat in Spain. During the five-day retreat, we explored the country, planted olive trees (that will eventually produce olive oil for our guests), and visited our producer partners. These trips are a part of the soul of Barcelona Wine Bar and we can't wait for the next one. #barcelonawinebar
