It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to our CEO, Clara Salvai as she embarks on new and exciting opportunities. Clara has been a driving force at Barakat + Bossa, leading with passion, vision, and dedication. Over the past two and a half years, we’ve achieved significant milestones together. Clara’s guidance has been instrumental in expanding our firm’s international footprint, most notably with the opening of our Medellín office in Colombia, a testament to our commitment to global expansion. We have also expanded our Corporate practice, establishing this critical arm of the firm. Clara’s leadership also saw us through our move to a new office in Coral Gables, a shift that reflects the growth and evolution of Barakat + Bossa. This new space symbolizes our commitment to innovation and providing the best environment for our team and clients. Furthermore, we’ve made our mark in the legal community, securing our second year of recognition in the Chambers rankings, and proudly becoming members of the Alliott Global Alliance. With over two decades of executive leadership experience, Brad brings a wealth of expertise to our team. He previously served as the Chief Administrative Officer of a 600-employee NLJ 500 and Mid-Market Pro 50 plaintiff law firm, where he played a key role in driving growth, contributing to the firm nearly doubling in size during his tenure. Before that, Brad was the Chief Administrative Officer of an international Am Law 200 firm, where he served as an ex-officio member of that firm's management committee. He focused on creating and driving value-added initiatives, helping the firm grow from 180 to over 400 attorneys and emerge as one of the top 200 firms in the U.S. by revenue. Brad’s commitment to leadership extends beyond his professional achievements. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, earning the rank of Sergeant during his active duty. This week, Brian Barakat presented argument before the Federal 11th Circuit Court of Appeals on an issue related to international arbitration. The court is presently considering the proper test to be applied under the New York Convention.
