The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), a worldwide socio-spiritual organization in Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, is dedicated to community service, peace and harmony. Motivated by Hindu principles, BAPS strives to care for the world by caring for societies, families and individuals. Through a number of social and spiritual activities, BAPS endeavors to produce better citizens of tomorrow who have a high esteem for their roots - their rich Hindu culture. Its 9,000 international centers, including more than 5,000 youth centers, support these activities of character-building. Under the guidance and leadership of the current spiritual leader, His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, BAPS aspires to build a community that is morally, ethically and spiritually pure, and free of addictions.

Innovation & Inspiration: A Legacy Beyond Earth On February 22, 2024, humanity reached a remarkable milestone. The IM-1 lunar lander, a product of the combined efforts of Intuitive Machines, NASA, and SpaceX, touched down at the Moon's south pole, marking the first U.S. spacecraft to achieve a controlled lunar descent in over half a century. But this mission was more than a technological feat. The lander also contained a profound message of unity, harmony, and compassion. At the base of IM-1 was a disc etched with the teachings of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, former spiritual leader of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. His life's credo, "In the joy of others lies our own; in the good of others abides our own," now permanently resides on the lunar surface.?His vision and mission are carried forward today under the leadership of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj and countless devotees, volunteers, and supporters of BAPS around the world. The disc also contained a prayer from Mahant Swami Maharaj for peace, happiness, respect, and harmony for all of humanity. This lunar mission and its profound message are a testament to the incredible feats we can achieve through international cooperation and the integration of science and spirituality. It highlights how space exploration, at its core, is a collective human endeavor, driven by shared values and the pursuit of knowledge for the betterment of all.?As we reflect on this monumental achievement, let us draw inspiration from its universal messages of harmony, unity, and collaboration.

The etching honors the life and service of Pramukh Swami Maharaj, a Hindu spiritual leader who championed the universal human value of selfless service. Such a cultural engagement between nations and corporations allows for the development of shared values, efforts, and responsibility in the pursuit of space exploration.??
