DevOpsDays TLV is 10! It’s a pretty big kid now, but 'raising' it is still challenging. ?? Last week, we celebrated our 10th DevOpsDays TLV. It was a tough year, and postponing the event while juggling all the issues that came with it wasn’t easy, to say the least. ??? We dealt with changes in the agenda, speakers, and sponsors, along with many people who were registered for the 2023 event and requested to reassign tickets to others for 2024. All of that turned it into a full-time job for me, while I made sure Sharone Revah Zitzman ??????? didn’t need to worry about any of it— as she already had 200 more things to handle. BUT WE DID IT. ???? ?? We honored Nati Shalom, Appleseeds | ????? ???? and our very own Sharone Revah Zitzman ??????? on stage for their incredible #community work (The award for Sharone was a surprise, she didn't know about it). ?? I sang a #devenablement song on stage (lyrics were all mine — no ChatGPT!). CDK is one approach when it comes to #devenablement in the area of cloud infrastructue I had the priviledge to deliver a talk about #cdk, how it enables developers to do their work more efficiently, without compromising the level of support or control needed/available from the platform/DevOps teams. At AWS Summit TLV I delivered this talk alongside no other than the creator of cdk, Elad Ben-Israel. Elad has taken cdk & abstractions to the next level and founded Wing. At AWS Summit NYC, I delivered this talk alongside Mark McCulloh, Senior Software Engineer @ Wing. Mark has a vast knowledge in this area and build cdk construct libraries regularly. On both talks, people were engaged, asked questions and it seems that Dev Enablement has really become a main focus for a lot of #Platform/#DevOps teams, which for me personally it's great to acknowledge. I'll discuss cdk as part of the common approaches for Dev enablement more in depth in a separate post, so stay tuned :)
