At Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, we believe patient care is most effective when it’s truly collaborative. Our evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach brings together physicians from all cancer specialties to provide highly coordinated and compassionate care.
As we observe Colon Cancer Awareness Month, Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center is proud to recognize one of our specialists, Michael Choti, MD, a hepatobiliary, pancreatic and gastrointestinal surgical oncologist and division chief of Surgical Oncology at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center at Banner Gateway Medical Center. Dr. Choti is dedicated to improving his patients’ quality of life and is focused on each patient as a whole – not just their cancer diagnosis.
“I think the most important way to build relationships with patients is to listen, spend time with them, and hear what is important to them,” says Dr. Choti. “Management of cancer is complex. Being able to communicate treatment options, and doing it in a way that is understandable, is so important. In turn, listening to what is important to my patients when making their treatment decisions is critical. The nicest thing a patient could say about me is that they felt that I cared about them, that they trusted me, that I was compassionate, and that I was focused on their best interest.”
Thank you, Dr. Choti, for all you do for our patients! We’re glad to have you at Banner MD Anderson.
